Almeria put aside their league worries in midweek to reach the last 16 of the Copa del Rey, but striker Henok Goitom admits he would happily swap that success for a three-point haul against Athletic Bilbao on Saturday.
Goitom was on the mark as Almeria downed Real Sociedad 2-1 on Wednesday to complete a 5-3 aggregate victory over their top-flight rivals.
However, with his team stuck in the bottom five of La Liga with only one league all season, Goitom is not getting too carried away.
"We all know that the league is more important than the Copa del Rey for us. I'd prefer to beat Athletic Bilbao and lose to Real Sociedad, even through we would be out of the cup. That's very clear,'' said the Swedish striker in AS.
"After the clash with Bilbao we have to face Barcelona. Therefore we have to win at San Mames, because if not things become very complicated for us.''
If Almeria's previous matches are anything to go by, then one goal might be enough to decide tomorrow's fixture as Juanma Lillo's side boast the tightest defence outside the top three with just nine goals conceded, but also the joint-worst attack with a mere eight scored.
Almeria at least look a side on the up having lost just once in eight league and cup games, winning three, and they received a boost in the lead-up to tomorrow's match with key forward Pablo Piatti being passed fit to play.
Athletic are in 10th spot in the standings after last weekend's disappointing 4-1 defeat at Villarreal, but they too progressed to the last 16 of the cup in midweek thanks to a 2-0 win at home to Alcorcon.
Defenders Aitor Ocio and Fernando Amorebieta remain sidelined for the Basque side, while Markel Susaeta and Gaizka Toquero are both doubtful.
Jon Aurtenetxe is suspended, but Carlos Gurpegi is set to play after Athletic success fully appealed against the yellow card - his fifth of the season - he picked up against Villarreal.
